Consultation Guidelines and Costs

This document outlines Mayos engagement for customers seeking quotes and estimates for various services including residential and commercial building works, as well as our individual trade services such as carpenters, electricians, plasterers, painters, roofers and more. Understanding these guidelines will help streamline the quoting process and ensure clarity for both parties. These processes are put in place to ensure we're able to provide a cost effective quoting service whilst still covering our overheads. As Mayos provides individual trades as well as building services, the depth and time it takes to compile quotes can vary. We offer a refund on your consultation costs if the quote is accepted within 4 weeks of being received.

💰 Free Desktop Quotes

• Process: Customers can request a free desktop quote by providing detailed information and photos of the project.
  
• Eligibility: All carpentry, painting, electrical, air-conditioning, plastering, roofing, and asbestos removal jobs up to approximately $10,000.
  
• Limitations: This quote is based solely on the information provided and may be subject to change if an inspection is required.
  

💰 Free Project Feasibility Reports

• Process: Customers can request a free feasibility report to establish if the works they want to complete is within their budget
• Eligibility: All building, renovating and individual trade service work above $10,000
• Limitations: This report is based on the information provided by you. It allows us to give you a price range and establish if we can make your project work within your budget and your time constraints!

📍 On-Site Consultations for Medium Sized Projects 

• Consultation Fee: A $44 consultation fee is required to attend the site and provide a detailed quote for these jobs.
  
• Eligibility: For projects exceeding $20,000 but under $200,000, such as kitchens, bathrooms, decks, extensions, renovations and commercial fitouts.
• Design Provision: This fee applies when the customer is providing the design for the project or a Provisional Sum is allocated for a building designer, architect or interior designer

📍 On-site Consultations for Large Sized Projects (Customer Provided Drawings)

• Consultation Fee: A $275 consultation fee is required to attend the site and provide a detailed quote for these jobs.
  
• Eligibility: For projects exceeding $200,000 such as extensions, renovations and customer builds
  
• Design Provision: This fee applies when the customer is providing the design for the project and Mayos are simply putting a quote together. It's limited to one site consultation.
  

📝 Full Design and Build Ready Preliminary Agreements

• Design Requirement: When a design is required for the project, customers may enter into a preliminary agreement where with Mayo's assistance we can help you with design, engineering, soil testing and certification.
• Third-Party Engagement: Mayo's will direct a designer, engineer, certifier, and other third-party contractors with the customer's approval and navigate you to be ready for construction at which stage you will receive a detailed quote.
• Preliminary Engagement Quote: A quote will be issued to the customer for the preliminary engagement services, which will detail the costs associated with the design and consultation process. The cost of this varies depending on customer requirements.
